When life gives you lemonsπππ
I have always found this an odd expression l mean who has a strong dislike to lemons anyway? What does the statement that follows even mean "make lemonade?"
Okay, so it generally means turn a bad situation into something positive and refers to mindset. This works for things like rainy days when we had planned outdoor activities with the kids and we have to stay in and bake instead, no lovely sunshine but yummy things to eat π π°π§πͺ
Some stuff, bigger life event stuff can throw you a curve ball and it feels a lot harder to see anything positive. The recent pandemic we have all just been through, affected us all differently. I lost income but was lucky enough my family stayed healthy. I gained a lot though, I did extra training online and gained new qualifications and started to see clients 1-1 via zoom for all manner of mental health issues they needed help with, things they wanted to change. So that was a real positive for me after a very tough couple of years ππ
Back to the subject of Lemons though, they are not the worse thing to be landed with.
lemon juice is rich in vitamin C, is great for colds and cuts through catarrh.
Lemon essential oil has so many uses, its both uplifting and stress relieving. It's a great energiser, kills many harmful viruses and bacteria, (step throat) and reduces inflammation.
The fresh aroma is uplifting and reminds us of sunnier days and warm climates βοΈ
π lemons are great sliced in a G&TπΈgrated in mayo as a salad dressing, lovely in many foods both sweet and savoury.
So when life gives you Lemons, shift your mindset, what is this teaching me? What can I learn from this?
Well you can do far more than just make lemonade.
Grab yourself some Lemon essential oil and give yourself a little well earned boost ππ

If you have a spare hour to yourself - pop on some great upbeat music, burn some citrus essential oil in a diffuser- ππGrapefruit, lemon, mandarin or Bergamot and then tackle that one job you have been putting off for ages. Clear out a kitchen cupboard, kids toy box, de clutter your wardrobe. Be ruthless, sing loudly - Set a timer at the end of the hour- Cup of tea as a well done me π΅
This can be more revitalising and better for your mindset sometimes than a relaxing bath π
Give this a go and post a pick below of 1 thing you have achieved this week

It's mental health awareness week.
Although we should be kind all the time and make sure no one feels lonely or left out we sometimes get caught up in our own stuff.
Reach out this week to others, friends you need to re connect with, a neighbour you haven't seen leave their house for a bit, a work colleague who doesn't seem themselves lately.
If you are struggling yourself reach out for a chat, don't be afraid to ask for help. Sometimes just chatting through the stuff that seems overwhelming can get put back into perspective if you talk it through with the right person.

You know that feeling, when you are on a roll, and have goals that you are working towards, be it a new job, house or even to lose 10lbs and you are feeling motivated and let's do this! πͺ
Then you hit an obstacle, life throws you a curve ball and you then feel its set you back. You can't achieve this goal after all.
Stay positive, and even on not so good days, keep your goals in sight.
The saying "Rome wasn't built in a day" is so true, can you imagine the set backs they must have had along the way! But someone had a vision to build a great city and after many years they reaped their reward and what a beautiful city it is! Maybe the ethics behind how this city got built wasn't too great but you get my gist.
Rethink your plan, get back on track, life isn't easy and achieving your dreams /goals won't come handed to you on a plate. The obstacles life throughs at us keeps life interesting, some stuff is just plain annoying others stuff truly heartbreaking but weve got to keep moving forward. One day at a time, don't stress about the future, don't sweat the small stuff.
Set Your Goals then make a plan. Start with "this is what I want to do," then write down the steps of how you get there.
Baby steps are better than doing nothing.
Once you have written it all down, scribble and doodles are fine too, you have set your intention and the plan to achieve your goal has already started.
Hope your day turns out to be amazing π
